Pheasant
This is Pheasant. It's a barn conversion on a farm in a place called Gold Hill, near Littleport. It's part of a group of old farm buildings that have been done up. All around is farmland, with those big Fenland skies.
It’s a three-bedroom place and sleeps six. There are two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 3 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and clean but not overly fancy.
Being on the farm gives you about 280 acres to walk on, straight from the door. You’re welcome to wander the footpaths. There's an indoor heated swimming pool and a hot tub in a communal building on site, which everyone staying in the barns can use.
The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a BBQ outside. Bedding and towels are included.
Littleport is about three miles away. It's got the basics: a shop, a couple of pubs on the river, and places to eat.
Ely is only six miles. The cathedral is worth a visit. You can walk by the river there, too. Cambridge is about a 30 minute drive for the colleges and the Backs. King's Lynn is a bit further, maybe 45 minutes.
