The Old Forge Wraxall

The Old Forge is in Wraxall, Dorset. It's a one bedroom cottage that sleeps two. It used to be the village blacksmith's. It's attached to another cottage and is across from the farmhouse where we live.

It has a 4 Star rating. It's been done up well inside. Everything is open plan downstairs. The bedroom has its own ensuite shower room. The bed is made up for you and towels are included.

There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. You can park right outside. WiFi is included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is welcome.

The garden is about half an acre. It's partly wooded and slopes down to a stream. It's shared with the other cottage, but it's a big space so you won't be on top of each other. You'll see a lot of birds and other wildlife.

The village is quiet. There are footpaths and bridleways straight from the door into the countryside. The nearest shop is about a mile away.

You can drive to the coast at West Bay or Burton Bradstock in about 20 minutes. Bridport is close by for markets and shops. Dorchester, Sherborne, and Yeovil are all within a 30 minute drive for a bigger day out.

If you're planning walks, the area is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For the Jurassic Coast, the Jurassic Coast Trust site has good information.

We live on site, so we're here if you need anything. We can sometimes do breakfast or an evening meal if you arrange it with us beforehand.
