The Old Forge is in Wraxall. It's a one bedroom cottage, so it's for two people. We've had it as a holiday let for a few years now. It used to be the village forge, obviously.
It's next to another cottage, but it's self-contained. You get your own front door. The garden is about half an acre and it's partly wooded. It goes down to a stream at the bottom. You'll see a lot of birds.
Inside, it's one open plan room downstairs with the kitchen, sitting area, and a wood burner. Upstairs is the bedroom and the bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and everything works.
The village is quiet. The nearest shop is a mile away in Askerswell. You can walk there via the footpaths if you don't mind a bit of a hill.
For the coast, West Bay and Burton Bradstock are about a 20 minute drive. That's the Jurassic Coast. Bridport is close to West Bay for shops and a market. Dorchester is about half an hour inland.
If you like walking, you can start right from the cottage. There are paths across the fields and up on to Eggardon Hill, which is an old hill fort. The views from up there are very good.
We can provide breakfast or an evening meal if you arrange it with us beforehand. Just ask.
It's fine for one well-behaved dog. There's parking right outside. All the bedding and towels are included. The facilities list is accurate, it's got a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi and so on.
