Craigdarroch Cottage
This is Craigdarroch Cottage. It's in Strathyre, which is right in the middle of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. It's a detached stone cottage, pretty old, from around the 1800s. You can see the hills from the garden and the front door.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. The stairs inside are a bit steep and narrow, just so you know.
You can walk to the village shop and the pub from here. The pub does food. There's a bike hire place about half a mile away, and the Callander to Killin cycle route goes right past. The forest trails start pretty much at the end of the road.
If you drive, Stirling is about half an hour. You've got Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument there. Gleneagles is about 50 minutes. Perth, Glasgow, and Edinburgh are all just over an hour away.
For things around here, the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park site has walking and cycling maps. The National Trust for Scotland looks after a lot of the local history sites.
