The Smiddy is in Lochearnhead. It's right on Loch Earn and you get the little shingle beach opposite. It's detached so you're on your own.
It's a former smithy so it's quite rustic inside. The main living room has stone walls and a woodburner. The kitchen is farmhouse style. It's comfortable but it's not fancy. It's got a 3 Star rating.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower. The stairs are okay but watch your head on the way up to the bedrooms.
Because it's on the loch, we've got a jetty and moorings you can use if you bring your own boat. There's a slipway too. If you don't have a boat, you can hire kayaks and things just along the road. The loch is good for sailing and waterskiing.
There's a shop and a pub about half a mile away. The village is quiet.
You're in the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. The walking is good straight from the door, or you can drive a short way for bigger hills like Ben Vorlich. There are loads of golf courses all around here, probably about twenty within an hour.
Stirling is about 40 minutes' drive. Edinburgh and Glasgow are both just over an hour if you need a city.
For facilities, it has a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring two dogs.
