Townhead Mill Gatelawbridge

Townhead Mill is here in Gatelawbridge, just outside Thornhill. It's a detached, old mill house from the 1700s. You get the whole place, and the garden.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, three bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. The main living space is on the first floor, so you go up to come in. There's a balcony off the lounge that looks out over the fields. The original mill stream runs through the garden. You can hear it.

There's a games room downstairs with a table tennis table and an exercise bike. One of the bedrooms is down there too. The garden is on two levels, with steps between them.

It's a rural spot. You'll need a car. Thornhill village is about three miles away for shops and a few places to eat.

Drumlanrig Castle is close, about a ten minute drive. Good for a walk around the grounds. The forests at Ae and Mabie are nearby for cycling or walking. The Solway Coast is maybe half an hour's drive. Galloway Forest Park is about the same, it's a Dark Sky Park if you're into stargazing. Dumfries is roughly twenty minutes away if you need more shops or want to see the Robert Burns sites.

Facilities: parking for a couple of cars, WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair. You can bring up to two dogs. There's bike storage.
