The Steading Cottage is on the edge of Thornhill, in Dumfriesshire. It's a detached, single-storey cottage converted from old stables. It's in the grounds of a Georgian house but you've got your own garden.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with super king beds, and two bathrooms. One is en-suite. It's a 4 Star property, so it's well done and comfortable. Everything is on the ground floor and the doorways are wide, so it's suitable for wheelchair users.
The main room is open plan: kitchen, dining and sitting area together. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings. French doors open straight out into the garden. The garden is enclosed and looks out over the Nith Valley.
Thornhill is about a ten minute walk. There's a couple of shops, a few places to eat, and a pub. The local golf course is a five minute drive.
You're well placed here for getting out. Drumlanrig Castle is practically on the doorstep for walks, cycling and the gardens. The River Nith is nearby if you fancy fishing. Galloway Forest Park is about a 40 minute drive for proper forest trails and dark skies. The Solway Coast is roughly half an hour by car.
In the cottage you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV and parking. All bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
