Westlin
Westlin is in Penpont, which is a village about two miles from Thornhill. It's detached, so no neighbours on the other side of the wall. The garden is enclosed.
The house sleeps ten. Five bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's a 4 Star, so it's well equipped and comfortable. There's a main sitting room with a multi-fuel stove, and a second smaller one with a TV, which is handy if you've got children or want some quiet.
Penpont has a small shop. Thornhill has a supermarket, some shops, and a few hotels that do meals.
You're well placed for getting out. The quiet country roads around here are good for walking and cycling. The 7Stanes mountain biking trails are close by. There's an 18-hole golf course in Thornhill.
Drumlanrig Castle is very close. It's a grand house with gardens and a country park, run by the Buccleuch Estates. They have events through the year.
If you fancied the coast, it's about a half hour drive to the Solway Firth. There are beaches and little villages like Sandyhills and Kippford there.
Facilities wise: there's parking, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
