Long John Cottage is in Redcar, North Yorkshire. It's a cottage from the 1840s that we've just finished updating. It's a two minute walk to the beach.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one double and one with two singles. There's one shower room. The rating is 4 Star, which means it's well equipped. The stairs are typical for a cottage of this age.
You can bring one dog. The garden at the back is enclosed. There's a patio with seating. We've also got an old outhouse that's now a secure shed, so you can put bikes or surfboards in there.
The facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included.
Redcar beach is long and sandy. The town has a proper seafront with arcades and cafes. They do a lemon top ice cream here, which is soft serve with a hard lemon shell on top. It's famous locally.
For a nice day out, Saltburn-by-the-sea is up the coast. It's got the cliff tramway and a pier. Staithes is a fishing village with narrow streets, and Whitby is about half an hour's drive. The Cleveland Way runs along the cliffs if you're a walker.
