The Timothy Yurt is near Balgowan, just outside Dunkeld in Perthshire. It's a good base for exploring central Scotland.
It sleeps four, not six. There's one main space with a double bed, a double futon, and two single futons. It's one bedroom, really. Everything's in that one round room. There's one bathroom, but it's not in the yurt itself. You walk a short distance to a shared toilet and shower block. It's clean and private, just separate.
The yurt has a wood burner. It gets it very warm. We supply some logs to start you off. There's electricity, sockets, a heater and a fan. There's WiFi too, though it can be a bit patchy.
Outside, there's a hot tub. That's for your use only. For cooking, there's a dedicated BBQ hut with a gas BBQ, a microwave, a small fridge and a kettle. There's a sink out there for washing up. You share that sink area with the yurt next door.
The site is rural. It's quiet. You'll see fields, not other houses. You can bring up to two dogs. The garden area is enclosed, but it's not totally escape-proof for a determined pet, so keep an eye on them.
Dunkeld is about a ten minute drive. It's a nice little town with shops, cafes and a cathedral by the river. The Hermitage, a woodland walk by the River Braan, is very close. Pitlochry is about twenty minutes north, with a theatre and distilleries. For walking, you're right on the edge of the Highlands. You can drive into Glen Shee or towards Loch Tay easily.

Things to know: it's glamping, so the bathroom is a short walk away. The stairs to the mezzanine sleeping area are more like a ladder. It's fine for most, but not for anyone with mobility issues. All bedding and towels are included. There's parking right by the yurt.
