Waterside House
Waterside House is in Knaresborough, right on the River Nidd. It's a big, detached place. It's got a 5 Star rating, so everything is in good order.
It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms, so there's enough space for everyone. The main staircase is fine, but there's another, smaller staircase from the kitchen down to the snug that's quite steep. Just a heads-up.
The kitchen is the main room. It's got an Aga and a wood burner. The French doors open onto a patio that looks over the river. There's outdoor furniture, a barbecue, and a fire pit out there. You have private fishing rights on the stretch of river at the bottom of the garden.
The town centre is a five-minute walk away. There are decent pubs, cafes, and a few shops. You can hire rowing boats from down by the bridge.
For day trips, Harrogate is about ten minutes by car or train. The Ripley Castle estate is a ten-minute drive away. York is roughly half an hour by car, or you can get the train from Knaresborough station. The Fountains Abbey estate is about a 30-minute drive.
Facilities: everything you'd expect is here. Washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, bedding and towels included. There's parking on the drive and an electric vehicle charger. No pets, sorry.
