Market Place View is an apartment in the middle of Knaresborough market square. You look right out over the cobbles from the bay window. It's in an old building, from around 1760.
It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The layout is over three floors. The living room is bright and has high ceilings. The kitchen is small but has what you need. One bedroom has a bath in it, which is a bit unusual but handy.
The stairs are the main thing to know. They're steep and winding, because it's an old place. There's also a bit of low headroom just as you go into the top bedroom. It wouldn't suit anyone with mobility issues.
You share the front door on the ground floor with the cottage next door, then it's all yours.
The location is the big draw. You're right there. The Wednesday market happens outside your window. There are pubs, cafes, and shops a few steps away. You can walk down through the castle grounds to the river in a few minutes. The view of the viaduct from there is good. You can hire rowing boats on the Nidd.
Harrogate is about ten minutes away by train from Knaresborough station, which is a five-minute walk. York is half an hour by train. Both are easy days out.
For walks, you've got Nidd Gorge and Mother Shipton's Cave on the doorstep. Further out, the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors are within a drive. The coast at Whitby is about an hour.
Facilities: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a wood burner in the living room. No pets.
