Market Place View is right in the middle of Knaresborough market square. It's an apartment on the first floor and up. You share the front door and entrance hall with the cottage next door, then it's all yours.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The building is old, from around 1760, and it's Grade II listed. That means the stairs are the original ones. They're quite steep, going up three floors. You need to watch your head a bit when you come out at the top bedroom.
The main room is on the first floor. Big bay window looking straight out over the square. You can sit there and watch the market. There's a kitchen off it. It's small, but it has what you need. Up another floor is a bedroom and the shower room. The shower is a good size. Then up the final stairs is the main bedroom. It's got a double bed and a bathtub in the room.
You don't need the car. The Wednesday market is right outside your window. There are pubs, cafes, and shops all around. Walk through the castle grounds for the view of the viaduct, then down the steps to the river. You can hire a rowing boat there.
For walks, you've got the river path and Nidd Gorge. Yorkshire Dales National Park is about a 30-minute drive. So is the North York Moors. Harrogate is ten minutes on the train, or a short drive. York is about half an hour by train.
Included: bedding, towels, WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. There's a wood burner. No pets.
