The Lodge is in Culbokie on the Black Isle. It's a wooden lodge, detached, with its own bit of garden. The main thing is the view. You look straight out over the Cromarty Firth to the mountains. It’s a proper sea view.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom with a shower. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and well looked after, not fancy. It’s open plan downstairs. There’s a wood burner for cooler nights. It works well.
You can bring one dog. The garden is fenced, but check the gates. There’s plenty of grass for them.
Culbokie itself has a shop for basics and a cafe. The store does good pies. There’s a pub in the village too, about a ten minute walk. For a bigger shop, the Tesco in Dingwall is a ten minute drive.
The coast path is right there. You can walk for miles. We’ve seen seals from the lodge windows. For golf, there’s a nine-hole course at Fortrose and Rosemarkie, about fifteen minutes away by the sea.
It’s a good base. Inverness is half an hour over the bridge. Ullapool is about an hour for the ferry to the Outer Hebrides. Loch Ness is maybe forty minutes.
What’s included: WiFi, TV, all bedding and towels, parking right outside. The washing machine is in a utility cupboard by the front door.
