The Old Moat Barn Elton

The Old Moat Barn is in Elton, near Bishop Auckland in County Durham. It's a detached, single-storey barn conversion. That means no stairs inside, which is handy.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place is spacious with high ceilings and oak beams. The main bedroom has a double bed, the other room has two singles. There's a washing machine and dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included.

Outside, there's a private, enclosed courtyard garden with a patio. It has a barbecue and a private hot tub. You can bring up to two well-behaved dogs.

Coatham Woods is right next to the property. Good for dog walks. For a proper walk with views, Roseberry Topping is about a 25 minute drive. The North York Moors aren't far. The coast is about 45 minutes away. Saltburn-by-the-Sea has a beach and that funicular railway. Whitby is a bit further, maybe an hour.

Bishop Auckland has supermarkets and the usual town things. Yarm is a 15 minute drive. It's a tidy little town with nice shops and places to eat.

For days out, Durham city is about 40 minutes away. The cathedral is worth seeing. Newcastle is under an hour. Barnard Castle is roughly half an hour's drive. The Bowes Museum is there.
