The Summerhouse Stockton on Tees

The Summerhouse is in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham. It's a single building in our back garden, completely detached. You get the whole garden area to yourselves. It's private, with a line of leylandii trees at the bottom for a bit more screening.

It sleeps two in one room. It's all open plan, so the bed, sofa, kitchen and dining table are in one space. The ceiling is high with beams. There's one bathroom with a freestanding bath that has a handheld shower attachment. It's got a 4 Star rating, which basically means it's well put together and comfortable.

The owner built it himself, he's a joiner by trade. You can tell, it's a solid little building. Outside there's a wood-fired hot tub. We'll have it lit and ready for when you arrive so it's up to temperature. There's also a barbecue and some garden furniture.

For facilities, you've got a smart TV, WiFi, and parking right by the gate. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.

Location wise, you're in a residential part of Stockton. It's quiet. For a walk, Ropner Park is close by, or Billingham Beck Valley Country Park. The Preston Park Museum is about a ten minute drive. The Tees Barrage white water centre is nearby if you fancy kayaking or rafting.

The coast is about half an hour's drive. Redcar and Saltburn are the main spots for a beach day. For a bigger day out, the North York Moors or the Durham coast are within reach. If you're planning trips, the North York Moors National Park site is useful.
