Keepers Hide

Keepers Hide is a shepherd's hut at Scar Top. It's for two people. We built it last year. It's quite new.

It's warm. There's a log burner and it's well insulated. The bed's a king size. The shower works well. The kitchenette is small but fine for holiday cooking. There's a table that folds down from the wall.

Outside, there's a wood-fired pizza oven and a fire pit. There's a hot tub next to the hut, which is nice in the evening. There's not much light pollution here, so you get a good view of the stars.

The thing you need to know is the access track. It's a farm track, not a normal road. You'll need to drive carefully and probably wouldn't want something low-slung. We'll give you proper directions.

You can bring one dog. The sheep are in the next field.

It's on the Pennine Way. You can step out the door and start walking. The walk to Haworth is a proper hike across the moors, but it's about an hour. Haworth's Main Street has the Bronte Parsonage Museum, pubs, and cafes.

Within half an hour's drive you can get to Skipton, which is a market town with a good castle. You can also get up to Malham Cove or the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail.

We've got another hut next to it, Rose Hip Rest. You can book both together if you're coming as a group of four.

The facilities are on the listing: bedding, towels, parking, WiFi, wood for the stove and oven. We provide the basics to get you started.

For planning walks, you'll want the National Trust in Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Dales National Park sites.
