Higher Kirkstall Wood Farm

Higher Kirkstall Wood Farm is a stone farmhouse just outside Keighley. It was a family renovation project. From the front, you look out over fields with sheep and the moors beyond. There's woodland at the back.

It sleeps seven. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place is solid and comfortable. It's got character, like the stone staircase and a big fireplace in the main room with a wood burner. The kitchen has a Rangemaster cooker.

The stairs are worth mentioning. They're the original stone ones and they're quite steep. Just take your time on them.

For walking, you can go straight from the door. The Bronte moors are right there. Haworth village is about three miles away. It's got the cobbled street, the Bronte Parsonage Museum, and cafes. You can get the Worth Valley Steam Railway from Keighley station, which goes through the moors to Oxenhope.

Skipton is about ten miles. They've got the castle, a market, and the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. Ilkley is good for a walk on the moor or an afternoon tea. Bolton Abbey is within half an hour for a walk by the river.

For facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, I'm afraid.
