Riversdelle

Riversdelle is in Beccles. It's a detached house right on the River Waveney. You get your own bit of river frontage with a garden.

It sleeps eight, but it's three bedrooms. They’ve used the space cleverly with beds in the eaves and such. Two bathrooms, one is a wet room on the ground floor. The place is wheelchair friendly at the entrance and that wet room helps. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's been done to a high standard. Everything feels new and is well kitted out.

The stairs to the first floor are a typical cottage staircase. Steep and a bit narrow. You get used to it.

You're a five-minute walk from the town centre. There's a decent mix of shops and places to eat. The weekly market is good for local produce. Beccles has a Lido, which is an outdoor heated pool open in the summer.

The real point is the river. You can fish from the garden if that's your thing. You can hire canoes or day boats locally. It's a proper Broads location. You're on the southern edge of it all.

Within half an hour you can get to the coast at Southwold. It's about 14 miles. Good beach, nice pier. Further along, you've got Dunwich Heath and the RSPB reserve at Minsmere if you like birdwatching. Norwich city is about a 40-minute drive.

Facilities cover what you'd need: parking, wifi, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. They ask for no parties, which is fair enough for a residential street.
