Samlesbury Hall Hamlet

Samlesbury Hall Hamlet is a group of shepherds huts in the grounds of Samlesbury Hall. They're not a single cottage, it's glamping. You rent a set of two or three huts together which sleep up to twelve people between them.

Each hut sleeps four and has its own en-suite bathroom. There are two double beds in each one, and they're well made with proper mattresses. They're colourful and feel solid.

There's no kitchen in the huts. That's the main thing to know. But there's a restaurant on site in the Hall that does breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea. There's also a place called Dotties Wafflery. You're not going to go hungry.

The Hall itself is the big attraction. It's a proper medieval building from the 1300s. They run events there, like tours and theatre. They even do a show about the Samlesbury witches. There's a driving range and crazy golf, an adventure playground, and some nice gardens to walk around.

Location wise, you're just off the M6 and M65. Preston is ten minutes away. You can be in Manchester or Liverpool in under an hour if you want a city day. For a walk, the River Darwen is nearby, or you can drive into the Ribble Valley pretty easily.

In terms of what's here: the huts have barbecues and outdoor seating. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking and WiFi. It's a 3 Star rating, which fits because it's comfortable but not a hotel. It's glamping.

If you're looking for things to do further out, these sites are good for planning: Forestry England - Forest of Bowland and National Trust - Ribble Estuary.
