Keyland Cottage is in Johnshaven. It's a small stone cottage in the middle of the village, converted from an old bothy. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place is clean and comfortable.
The cottage feels quite compact, which is fine, but worth knowing. There’s a wood burner that works well. The stairs are steep and narrow, typical for a building this old.
You have a small, private courtyard out the side. It gets the sun in the afternoon and is enclosed, so it’s fine for dogs. There’s a washing machine, dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We leave some coffee and logs for you.
Everything in the village is a short walk away. The harbour is just there. There’s a local shop, a pub that does food, a good tearoom, and the Lobster Shop for fresh seafood. The pub by the harbour is known for its fish.
You can walk straight from the door onto the coastal path. It’s right there. For golf, you’ve got a few courses within half an hour, like Edzell and Montrose. Dunnottar Castle is about a 25-minute drive south. It’s a spectacular ruin on the cliffs. Further afield, Aberdeen is 45 minutes north and Dundee is about 50 minutes south.
We accept up to two dogs. There’s a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking is on the street outside the cottage.
