Loch View
Loch View is in Grimshader, on Lewis. It's a detached house, traditional style. It's got a view over the Loch, hence the name.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating so it's well equipped and comfortable. The main bedroom is on the ground floor, which is handy. There's a second wood burner in the kitchen area for cooler evenings.
You're well placed for exploring the island. Stornoway is about a 20 minute drive for supermarkets and things. The famous Callanish Standing Stones are a 25 minute drive. The Gearrannan Blackhouse Village is about 15 minutes away.
The beaches here are incredible. Uig Sands, where the chessmen were found, is about 40 minutes by car. If you want to see the truly stunning ones, you drive over to Harris. Luskentyre is about an hour and a quarter away, but it's worth it.
Wildlife is everywhere. You might see sea eagles from the house. Otters are in the loch. Dolphins and whales are often spotted from the coast.
Facilities wise, it's all there. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking. It's pet friendly, up to two dogs. There's a garden with a view over the loch. A cot, highchair, and stairgate are there if you need them.
A quick note: if you're coming by ferry, you need to book it well in advance. It gets busy.
