Mission House is in Marvig, on the south coast of Lewis. It looks over the sea loch. It's an old mission hall that's been converted.
It sleeps five. Two bedrooms and a bathroom, all on one floor. There's a double room, a room with bunk beds, and a fold-out bed suitable for a child. The main space is open plan: kitchen, living area, dining table all together. It makes it feel light and it's nice for being in one room as a group.
The garden is enclosed. Part is lawn, the rest is wild grass. There's a parking space.
You're right on the water. There's a pebble beach a short walk away. You can fish, or put kayaks in the loch. We often see seals from the windows. Otters, sea eagles, golden eagles are all around here if you're patient.
For a good view, the Seaforth Viewpoint is a short drive away. The boardwalks at Aline Community Woodland are also close. If you fancy a drive, the Callanish Stones are about an hour north on Lewis. Over on Harris, Luskentyre beach is spectacular and the Golden Road is a great drive. Both are within 30 miles, but allow time for the single-track roads.
It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and comfortable but not luxurious. It's very quiet. On a clear night you can see the stars clearly, and if you're lucky, the northern lights.
Facilities: Wood burning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. Cot and highchair available. We accept up to two dogs. The parking is for two cars.
