Mission House

Mission House is a converted mission hall in Marvig. It's a one-storey place, so all on the ground floor. It's detached and looks out over the loch and the hills.

It sleeps five. Two bedrooms: one double room, one room with bunk beds. There's also a fold-out bed if you need it, fine for a kid. One bathroom. The living room, dining area and kitchen are all open plan. That means it's bright and everyone's together.

The garden's enclosed. Part of it's lawned, the rest is just wild grass. There's space for a table and chairs outside. Parking for two cars.

It's got a woodburning stove, which is good for the evenings. There's WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, a dishwasher. All the bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.

It's a quiet spot. You can see otters and seals from the window sometimes, or eagles overhead. There's a pebble beach a short walk away. You can fish in the loch, or put a kayak in. The water's sheltered here.

If you drive for about twenty minutes, you can get to the Seaforth Viewpoint. The view from there is very good. The Aline Community Woodland has boardwalks for a stroll.

For a longer day out, the Callanish Stones on Lewis are about an hour's drive. Over on Harris, Luskentyre beach is famous. The sand is white and the water is that clear blue. The Golden Road is a scenic drive along the east coast of Harris.

The skies are dark at night. You can often see the northern lights if the conditions are right.
