This is Harris, one of our holiday huts on the edge of Stornoway. It's a single-storey, detached building, basically a big wooden shed done up nicely. It sleeps two in one main room. There's a double bed and a sofa bed, so it's flexible. It's a 3 Star place, which means it's comfortable, clean, and practical, but not a hotel.
You walk in and it's all one open space. The ceiling is quite high, so it feels bigger than you'd think from outside. There's a kitchenette along one wall, a table and chairs, and the bed. The shower room is a decent size. Everything you need is in there.
We built a separate hut just for laundry and drying gear. It has a washing machine, drying racks, and a dehumidifier. It's really useful if you've been out walking or cycling in the rain, which happens a fair bit here. A lot of people biking the Hebridean Way end their trip here and use it.
Location is the main thing. You can walk into Stornoway town centre in about ten minutes. That means you can go for a meal or a drink without worrying about driving. The Lews Castle grounds and museum are even closer, just up the road.
From here, you can get to a lot of the big sights quite easily. The Callanish Standing Stones are about twenty minutes by car. The Blackhouse Village at Garenin is maybe half an hour. If you want the beaches, Luskentyre on Harris is under an hour's drive.
In Stornoway, there's a golf course, and you can arrange local fishing. The Saturday market is good for local stuff. It's worth checking if any events are on, like the HebCelt festival in summer.
Facilities: parking right outside, your own little patio area, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is allowed. You share the laundry hut with guests from the other huts.

A quick note: please book your ferry or flight before you book the hut, especially in summer. The transport links get busy.
