Wheelwright Cottage is in Little Brampton. It's a single cottage at the end of a lane, surrounded by fields. You can see the Long Mynd from the kitchen window.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bathroom is downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. We renovated it a couple of years ago so everything works. It's wheelchair friendly to get in, but the bedrooms are upstairs. The stairs are a normal flight, not too steep.
The garden is big and you're welcome to use it, but it's shared with the main house next door. We're not in it much. There's a hot tub in a private bit of the garden that's just for the cottage. The patio has a table and a BBQ.
You're right in the country here. The footpath to the nearest pub starts at the end of the drive. It's about a 25 minute walk. They do good food.
Ludlow is about a 20 minute drive. It's got the castle, a proper market, and all the food shops. Stokesay Castle is closer, maybe 10 minutes away. It's an English Heritage site. Further on, you've got Shrewsbury, Ironbridge and Hereford, all within about 40 minutes.
If you're into walking, you're on the edge of the Shropshire Hills. The Long Mynd and Carding Mill Valley are about 30 minutes by car.
We run a pottery studio in the barn. If you're staying, you're welcome to a free hour-long lesson. You can make something and we'll post it on to you after it's fired.
Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a washing machine, a dishwasher, a cot and a highchair. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
