Colstey Farmhouse
Colstey Farmhouse is in Argoed, on Shropshire's border with Wales. It's on our working sheep farm, so you'll see the sheep in the fields. The main house sleeps sixteen and it's detached, with its own drive and garden.
It's a big, old farmhouse spread over four floors. That means there are steps and stairs everywhere, some are quite steep. The ground floor has a large kitchen, a dining room, a living room, and a utility for boots. There's also a double bedroom and a toilet on that level.
Upstairs on the first floor are six more double bedrooms. Three have en-suites, and there's a family bathroom. On the top floor there's a twin room and a small snug area. Down in the lower ground floor there's a second kitchen, which is useful for big groups.
Outside at the back there's a private garden with a patio, a lawn, and a hot tub. There's also a covered BBQ hut with a charcoal barbecue and benches that seat everyone.
The house has a 4 Star rating. It's well-equipped for a large group with things like wifi, TVs, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. There is level access into the ground floor.
You can walk from the door straight onto the local paths. For a good hike, the Stiperstones ridge, Clee Hills or Wenlock Edge are all about a 30-minute drive. For a day out, Ludlow, Shrewsbury and Ironbridge are all within easy reach. National Trust places like Croft Castle and Powis Castle are also nearby.
We don't allow pets. If you need space for more people, the property can be booked alongside The Stables cottage next door.
