The Stables is on our smallholding in Woodlane. It was a stable block, we converted it. It's off-grid, so it runs on solar power and a battery. There's a backup generator for long cloudy spells. You'll see the pigs, sheep, and chickens from the windows.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating. The main room is open plan with a wood burner. We provide some wood to get you started. The stairs to the bedrooms are quite steep, like a ship's ladder. It's fine, you just need to be a bit careful.
The garden is yours, enclosed with a fence. The view is over our fields and then woods. It's very quiet. There are footpaths straight from the gate into Needwood Forest.
The village of Yoxall is about a mile and a half away. There's a shop, a pub, and a couple of places to eat. For a bigger shop, you'd go to Burton upon Trent, which is about a fifteen minute drive.
If you're planning trips out, Cannock Chase is about half an hour north. The Peak District boundary is about forty minutes drive. For history, the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas is ten minutes away, and Shugborough Hall is about twenty-five minutes. Chatsworth House is just under an hour.
Facilities: there's a TV, WiFi, parking for two cars, bedding and towels are included. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. The kitchen has a fridge with a small freezer compartment, an oven, and a hob. There's a washing machine.
