The Stables At The Oaks
The Stables at The Oaks is on our smallholding in Woodlane. It used to be a stable block. We converted it a few years back.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There’s one bathroom with a shower. We’ve got a 4 Star rating.
The place is off-grid. It runs on solar power and a biomass boiler. There’s a wood burner in the main room too. The wifi is okay, but it can get slow if it’s very cloudy.
You’ll see our animals from the garden. We keep pigs, sheep, and some chickens. The garden is enclosed and it’s just for you. It looks out over the fields.
The stairs up to the bedrooms are quite steep. Something to be aware of.
There’s a local shop and a pub about a mile away in Yoxall. The pub does food.
For walks, you can go straight out the gate onto the footpaths. Needwood Forest is close. Further out, within about half an hour, you’ve got Peak District National Park and Cannock Chase. For a day out, the National Memorial Arboretum is about twenty minutes' drive.
Facilities: It’s all on one level except the bedrooms. There’s a TV, wifi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can take up to two well-behaved dogs.
