Swiss Cottage Alrewas

This is Swiss Cottage in Alrewas. It's one of a pair of old cottages on the main street. The front door opens straight onto the pavement.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and functional. The ceilings are low in some places and there's a step down into the living room you need to remember.

You've got a little walled garden out the back with a table and a BBQ. It's private.

The village is on the Trent and Mersey Canal. You can get onto the towpath about a hundred yards away. It's flat, good for walking or cycling. There are three pubs in the village, all serve food. A couple of shops and a post office too.

The National Memorial Arboretum is just down the road, maybe half a mile. It's worth a visit. Lichfield is about five miles away. The cathedral is the main thing there.

For a day out, Drayton Manor Park and Twycross Zoo are about half an hour's drive. Alton Towers and the edge of the Peak District are within an hour.

Facilities are pretty standard. There's a dishwasher, WiFi, parking for one car around the back. You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding is included.
