Swallow Cottage

Swallow Cottage is at Hadley End in Staffordshire. It’s part of a group of three cottages around a courtyard, but it's your own place with a private garden. The garden looks out over fields.

It sleeps six people. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms, which is handy. It’s got a 4 Star rating. That means it’s well-finished and comfortable. The owners have thought about the details.

The village of Yoxall is about a mile away. There’s a shop and a pub there. You can walk to it if you want. The pub serves food.

You’re right in the National Forest here, so there are walks straight from the door. The National Memorial Arboretum is about six miles away. It’s a moving place and worth a visit. Burton upon Trent is nine miles if you’re interested in the brewing history.

For a day out, the Peak District is within half an hour. National Trust Peak District has good information. Cannock Chase is also close by. Dovedale is a famous spot for a walk, about a 25-minute drive. Market towns like Lichfield and Ashbourne are a short drive. They’ve got nice old centres to wander around.

Alton Towers is about half an hour away if that’s your sort of thing. For something quieter, places like Chatsworth or Shugborough Hall are within easy reach.

Facilities: it’s got the things you’d expect like a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi and parking. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring one well-behaved dog.

If you’re looking to plan walks or visits, the National Forest website is useful.
