Richmond Cottage Welton

This is Richmond Cottage. It's in Welton, a village in Northamptonshire. It's one of a pair of old cottages, right next to the village pub. You can't get much closer. We leave a £20 voucher for the pub in the cottage for you.

It sleeps four over three bedrooms, which is handy if you want some space or are two couples. There are two bathrooms, one is an en-suite shower room. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. The stairs are standard for a cottage this age.

The garden is fully enclosed, which is good for dogs. There's a patio that catches the evening sun. If you're bringing dogs, we leave a dog bed, towels, bowls, and a few treats for them.

The pub next door is friendly and does food in the evenings. They sometimes have live music. The village shop is about a mile and a half away.

For days out, Daventry is two and a half miles, Rugby is seven. Both have supermarkets and shops. The Heart of the Shires shopping village is about four miles away. There's a good walk around the reservoir at Daventry Country Park, which is only a mile from the cottage.

If you like canals, there are lots of marinas around here. Draycote Water is good for sailing and walks. Silverstone is about a 25-minute drive. Warwick Castle, Stratford-upon-Avon, and a few National Trust places like Canons Ashby are within half an hour.

Facilities in the house: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but it's an old cottage so the inside layout might be tricky for some mobility needs.
