Althorp
Althorp is a glamping pod on a working farm in Ravensthorpe. It's one of three pods here, so it's not totally isolated, but you've got your own space.
It sleeps three. There's one room with a double bed and a small double sofa bed in the main living area. It's all open plan. Everything's on one level, which is handy. There's one bathroom with a shower.
The main thing is the view. It looks out over the fields. You'll see sheep and the general farm work going on. It's quiet.
You can walk straight out into the woods from the pod. There's a shared, shaded bit out there with seating. The farm has its own footpaths. You can find the spring that feeds the River Nene.
If you ride, you can bring your horse. There are paddocks behind the pods and hacking routes. There's also a riding school on site if you want lessons.
The owners live on the farm. They can sort you out with a BBQ, a firepit, or breakfast packs made with their own produce if you ask in advance.
The nearest pub is about two and a half miles away. You'll need a car.
It's a good base for seeing the big houses. Althorp House is close, obviously. So are Holdenby House and Coton Manor Gardens. Silverstone Circuit is about a 25 minute drive. For a walk further out, Northamptonshire's country parks are worth a look.
