This is Kestrel Barn. It's a barn conversion in Swaffham. I'm just pointing because I live on site, in the other house. You get a bit of privacy though, it's your own space.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. Two of those are en-suite. Handy if you're sharing with friends. The stairs are a standard flight.
The barn is accessed by a rough track. It's just a farm track, so you don't need a 4x4 or anything, but take it slow. The kitchen, dining and sitting area are all open plan. There's a wood burner. There's also a private hot tub out the back.
Swaffham is a proper market town. The Bull Inn pub, the shops, a few cafes, they're all about three-quarters of a mile away. You can walk it in 15 minutes. For a bigger shop, there's a Waitrose.
If you want to go out, the coast is about half an hour's drive. Wells-next-the-Sea has the big beach with the pine woods. Holkham is just past that, it's a huge beach. You can drive up the coast through villages like Burnham Market and Blakeney.
Inland, Thetford Forest is the same distance the other way. Good for cycling and walking. Forestry England Thetford Forest has the maps.
For history, Sandringham House is about 40 minutes away. The house and gardens are open when the King's not there. Sandringham Estate has the dates. Norwich is about 45 minutes, the castle is right in the centre.
Practical stuff: it's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and finished to a high standard. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs. There's a travel cot and a highchair if you need them. The garden is enclosed.
