Walkmill Lodge is in Walkmill, Shropshire. It's detached and was a stone outbuilding, then an artist's studio, before we did it up. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have their own bathrooms, which is handy.
It's got a 5 Star rating. It's comfortable and everything works. It's warm, with a wood burner in the living room for the evenings. The kitchen is fine for cooking a proper meal. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine.
Outside, there's an enclosed garden with a patio. You can sit out there with a drink. It looks out over the orchard and fields.
The stairs are normal, not steep. Everything is on one level except for a couple of steps down into the living room. Parking is right next to the cottage.
You can bring one dog. We provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included.
The village shop and the local pub are about a quarter of a mile away. The pub does food. For a bigger shop, you'd drive to Church Stretton or Bishops Castle.
If you like walking, you can just step out the door. Footpaths start from the lane. The Long Mynd and Cardingmill Valley are about a 15 minute drive. The Stiperstones are a bit further. Church Stretton, Bishops Castle, and Clun are all designated 'Walkers are Welcome' towns.
For a day out, Ludlow is about 25 minutes by car. Shrewsbury is maybe 35 minutes. There are several National Trust places within half an hour, like Attingham Park or Sunnycroft. If you go into Wales, which is very close, there are good ice cream farms.
