Upper Stanbatch Cottage

Upper Stanbatch Cottage is in Bridges, up the side of the Long Mynd. It's detached, on a working farm. Getting there involves a steep track off the lane, so you know you're away from things. The views are good, right down the valley.

It sleeps four. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's graded 3 Star, which is about right. It's clean and comfortable, not modernised. The stairs inside are worth mentioning: they're a spiral, and they're steep and narrow. Just take your time.

You're basically in the middle of the hills here. The garden is yours and it's very quiet. You're right on the edge of National Trust land, so you can walk straight out the gate onto the Long Mynd. The Shropshire Way path is about a five minute walk up the track if you want a proper route. The summit is maybe a 30 minute walk if you're keen.

For a shop or a pub, you'll need to drive about two miles to the nearest village. It's that sort of place.

If you want to explore, Church Stretton is close by. Shrewsbury and Ludlow are both about a half hour drive and are good for a day out, lots of history. Bishops Castle is smaller but has some nice pubs. Ironbridge is also within half an hour if you're interested in that.

What's here: woodburner, TV, washing machine, parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a garden with furniture.
