Balnowlart Lodge is just outside Ballantrae village, about two miles from the coast. It's a detached place, so no neighbours on the walls. The garden looks out over fields down to the River Stinchar.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable. The stairs are a bit steep and narrow, which is common here. Just so you know.
The lodge has an open fire, which is good for cooler nights. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, and parking for a couple of cars. We can provide a cot and highchair if needed. You can bring up to two dogs.
Ballantrae has a shop, a pub, and a pebble beach. The views out to sea, towards Arran and Ailsa Craig, are very good.
If you're driving, you can get to the Turnberry golf course in about half an hour. The Galloway Forest Park is about 25 minutes away for walking. It's a Dark Sky Park, so if it's clear at night, the stars are incredible. For a day out, you could get the ferry from Cairnryan to Northern Ireland. Dumfries House is also within half an hour if you like that sort of thing.
There are tennis racquets and balls you can hire from me for a tenner if you arrange it beforehand.
