Cairn-O-Mhor

Cairn-O-Mhor is a bungalow just outside Lendalfoot on the Ayrshire coast. It's detached, with its own garden.

It sleeps eight people in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, which helps. It's got a 4 Star rating. It was upgraded a few years ago. Everything is on the ground floor, which is useful.

The main thing is the view. You look straight out over the fields to the sea, and you can see Ailsa Craig and Arran. The living room, kitchen, and the sun room all face that way. You do get some good sunsets. It's about a four minute walk down to the beach.

You're right on the Ayrshire Coastal Path if you want to walk. The beach is shingle. Sometimes you see seals. There's a pub and a shop, but they're about seven miles away in Girvan, so you need to drive.

Girvan has a harbour where you can get boat trips out to Ailsa Craig. It's a bird sanctuary now. You can see gannets and puffins. Further up the coast, Culzean Castle and its country park are worth a visit. National Trust for Scotland Culzean Castle.

If you want to go further, the Galloway Dark Sky Park is about twenty minutes by car. You can get a ferry to Arran from Ardrossan, or over to Northern Ireland from Cairnryan. Both are within half an hour or so.

For facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, Wi-Fi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot and a highchair. There's bike storage. No pets, sorry, because there's livestock in the fields next door.
