The Signal Box is a log cabin. It sits on its own up a track, past the main farmhouse. The views are over fields.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom with a shower. The rating is 3 Star, which sums it up. It's comfortable and clean, not posh.
It's a really quiet spot. There's a stream at the bottom of the garden you can walk along. For a proper walk, you're about ten minutes' drive from the edge of Galloway Forest Park. That's a huge area of forest and hills. It gets very dark at night.
The nearest town is Girvan, a ten minute drive. There's a big Co-op, other shops, and a decent leisure centre with a pool. From the harbour there, you can get boat trips out to Ailsa Craig.
Within half an hour, you've got options. Culzean Castle is a big one, it's dramatic. You've got Turnberry for golf. There's the coast path all along there if you like walking. You're also in Burns country, so there are museums and monuments related to that if you're interested. Ayr is about twenty minutes further on.
The cabin has all the basics. There's a TV, wifi, parking right outside, and a small patio with a table. It's fully double-glazed, so it's warm. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
