The Signal Box
The Signal Box is a log cabin in Pinwherry. It's detached. You're right on the edge of Galloway Forest Park, so it's quiet. You can walk out the door and be by the river straight away.
It sleeps two, one bedroom and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean. Everything is open plan downstairs. The shower is good. There's a patio with a table and chairs, and you get the whole garden to yourselves. We include the bedding and towels. There's a TV and WiFi. You can bring one dog.
It's a proper countryside spot. Girvan is about a ten minute drive if you need shops or the leisure centre pool. From there you can get boat trips out to Ailsa Craig.
The main thing here is the outdoors. You're basically at the gate to Galloway Forest Park. It's huge, all forest and lochs and hills. You'll see deer. It's also a Dark Sky Park, so if it's a clear night the stars are incredible.
Within half an hour you've got a fair bit. Culzean Castle is worth the trip, it's on the cliffs. For a shorter walk, the grounds at Dumfries House are good. The Ayrshire Coastal Path starts down the road. If you want a day out, you can get the ferry to Arran from Ardrossan.
