It's called Braemar and it's just outside Lendalfoot. It's a wooden bungalow, completely on its own. The big thing is the view. You look straight out over the sea to Ailsa Craig.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. It's not a luxury hotel.
It's quiet here. The village is tiny. The nearest proper shops or a pub are about seven miles away in Girvan. You need to plan for that.
There's a picnic area and a sandy beach just down the road. When the tide's out you can walk on the rocks. We see seals there often.
You're right on the coast for walking. You can explore a lot from here, Ayrshire or over into Dumfries and Galloway. The ruins of Carleton Castle are on the hill behind the cottage.
What's here: parking right outside, a garden, a washing machine, towels and bedding are included, and a woodburning stove. You can bring up to two dogs.
If you're looking for things to do, the National Trust for Scotland's Culzean Castle is about a 30 minute drive north. It's a good day out.
