This is Fiddlers Rest. It's an apartment on the first floor in Ballantrae. The village is small, right on the coast. You're a couple of minutes walk from the beach and the harbour.
It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom with a walk in shower. We accept up to two dogs. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean.
You have your own patio area with a barbecue. There's parking. Everything you'd expect is included: bedding, towels, WiFi, TV.
The Ayrshire Coastal Path runs right past the door. You can set off walking from the property. You can see Arran from the coast here. There are often seals in the harbour and red squirrels in the woods.
The village has a shop for basics. For more choice, Girvan is about a 15-minute drive north. They've got a swimming pool and a leisure centre. You can get boat trips from there out to Ailsa Craig.
Heading south, Stranraer is on Loch Ryan. From there you can explore the Rhins of Galloway. Portpatrick is a nice harbour village, and the Mull of Galloway is the southernmost point.
Ayr, Troon and Prestwick are all within about a 40-minute drive for a bigger town day out. Ferries to Arran, Bute or Great Cumbrae are also within that sort of driving time.
