Rose Cottage Hythe

Rose Cottage is on a hillside in Hythe. It's old, maybe from the 1500s, so you get quite low ceilings and uneven floors. There's a woodburner, which is good for cooler evenings. The front sitting area has a little bit of a view towards the sea.

It sleeps three in two bedrooms. One double and one single. There's one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, but it's not gleaming new.

The stairs are mentioned on the listing for a reason. They're steep, narrow, and they spiral a bit. You need to be careful on them.

You can walk down the hill into Hythe. It takes maybe ten minutes. There's a high street with shops and places to eat. The beach is shingle. The Royal Military Canal towpath is good for a flat walk or a bike ride. There's a shop and a pub about 500 yards up the hill.

If you drive, Folkestone is about ten minutes away. Dover and the ferry port is maybe twenty minutes. The White Cliffs of Dover are within half an hour. So is Canterbury.

As for what's here: there's parking for one car on site, a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog. There's a BBQ out the back.
