Seaview, Hythe

This is Seaview, in Hythe. It's on the front, facing the sea. You get an uninterrupted view across the Channel.

It's a big Victorian townhouse. It sleeps ten, with five bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's spread over four floors, so there are a lot of stairs. They're the original staircase, so they're fine, but they are steep in places. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been renovated, so it's light and well-equipped, but it's still a family house, not a show home.

The best bit is the first floor kitchen. It's open plan with a dining area and doors out to a balcony. The view from there is the main feature. You can see the whole bay.

Downstairs on the ground floor is the living room. It's a big space with a wood burner and plenty of sofas. There's also a proper, enclosed garden out the back with a lawn.

It's right on the pebble beach. You can walk for miles along the promenade, towards Folkestone one way and towards Dungeness the other. The high street is a few minutes' walk inland. There are a couple of pubs and restaurants there. There's also a seafood restaurant about a hundred metres from the house.

Facilities: everything's included. Bedding, towels, WiFi, TV. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, highchair and cot. Parking is on the street.

For days out, Folkestone is about four miles away. You can get the train from there into London. Dover Castle is about twenty minutes by car. Canterbury is half an hour's drive. Romney Marsh is on the doorstep.
