Seaview, Hythe Hythe

This is Seaview in Hythe. It’s a big old Victorian house right on the seafront, with a proper view straight out over the Channel. Sleeps ten, across five bedrooms and three bathrooms.

The layout is on four floors. The ground floor and top floor have bedrooms. The main living room is on the first floor. It’s a big, open space with a wood burner. The kitchen and dining room are on the second floor. That’s where the best view is. There’s a balcony off the kitchen you can stand on.

The stairs are the original ones, so they’re quite steep in the usual Victorian way.

The garden is enclosed, which is handy.

You’re on the promenade. The beach is pebbles. You can walk along the front towards Folkestone. The high street is a short walk inland. There are pubs and restaurants there. The Royal Military Canal path is also nearby for a flat walk.

In terms of things to do, you’re well placed. Dover Castle is about 20 minutes’ drive. The Port Lympne and Howletts animal parks are within half an hour. Canterbury is about 25 minutes away.

The house has a 4 Star rating. It’s got everything you’d expect: wifi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and highchair if needed. The entrance and a shower room are wheelchair accessible.
