Marine Parade is right on the seafront in Hythe. It's a tall, old Regency house, so it's got four floors.
It sleeps ten people in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, which helps with that many people. The rating is 5 Star, so it's well-equipped. It's also a listed building, so you get the original features like panelling and fireplaces. Some of the furniture is antique, but it's meant to be used.
The main thing is the position. You look straight out at the sea from the front. You can see boats going past, and sometimes you can just make out France on a very clear day. From the back, you look over the cricket ground towards the old town. You can hear the waves.
The stairs are steep, because it's an old house. The rooms are spread out over the floors, which gives you space. There's a games room in the basement with a table tennis table.
You're right on the promenade. For the High Street, you just walk along the canal path, which takes about five minutes. There are shops and cafes there. The Royal Military Canal path is good for a flat walk or a run.
Hythe itself is one of the Cinque Ports. The old church, St Leonard's, is worth a look. For a longer trip, Folkestone is about ten minutes drive, and you can get the train to London from there. The White Cliffs of Dover are roughly half an hour away. Romney Marsh and Dungeness are a fifteen minute drive the other way; it's a very strange, flat landscape.
Facilities: it has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking for one car right outside. The garden is enclosed. You can bring one dog. Bedding and towels are included.
