Brens Barn Aiskew

Brens Barn is up at Aiskew Bank Farm, near Bedale. It's a detached barn we converted a few years ago. Everything's on one level, which is handy.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms. Both have TVs. One bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done to a good standard, so it's comfortable and clean. Underfloor heating, an open plan living area, a proper kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine. All the bedding and towels are included.

Outside, there's a patio at the front with some chairs, looking over the fields and the farm's paddocks. There's a barbecue you can use. To the side, there's a little raised terrace with more garden furniture. The farm has peacocks that wander about sometimes.

You can book to use the farm's party shed, it's on site. It's got a big barbecue, a pizza oven, a bar area and a dartboard. There's also a green outside with some games.

For walking, you're right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There's a public footpath from the farm down to Bedale Beck. You cross the Wensleydale Railway line to get to it, so you might see one of their old steam trains going past. It's about a ten-minute walk into Bedale itself. There are shops, pubs and a railway station there.

If you've got horses, there's stabling and a paddock available on the farm, and you can ride straight out onto bridleways.

Within about half an hour you can drive to Thirsk, Leyburn, or Masham. The National Trust has Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal about 25 minutes away.

Facilities: WiFi, smart TV with Netflix and the like, on-site parking, bicycle storage. The entrance is wheelchair accessible. No pets.
