Daisy

It's called Daisy. It's a cottage on our lane. It used to be part of the farm here.

It's a bungalow, so it's all on one level. That's useful if you don't like stairs. Sleeps four, two bedrooms. Both have their own bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable.

Inside it's warm. There's a wood burner if you want a fire. We leave you some logs. It has a proper kitchen with a dishwasher and a washing machine. Outside there's an enclosed garden with a patio. You can sit out there without worrying about the dog, but we don't allow pets. Sorry.

The location is good because it's quiet here, but you're only five minutes from the A1. So you can get to lots of places easily. Northallerton's the nearest proper town, about ten minutes by car. It's a market town.

The Dales are about a half hour drive west. The Moors are about the same to the east. For a day out, you've got places like Fountains Abbey or Mount Grace Priory.National Trust Yorkshire has good information on those.

If you've got kids, the Forbidden Corner is popular. It's a maze with follies. Big Sheep and Little Cow farm near Bedale is another one people go to. Thirsk is James Herriot country if you're into that.

The beach is a fair drive, about 40 miles. Mostly you'd come here for the countryside. There's fishing locally if that's your thing. A golf course nearby too.

There's a farm shop down the lane, maybe a five minute walk. Sells good produce. The nearest pub and restaurant is about three quarters of a mile away.

We provide bedding and towels. There's parking right outside.
