Hunters Lodge

Hunters Lodge is a detached cottage in Scruton, a small village. It's a converted barn, so there are exposed beams inside. The stairs are wooden and a bit steep, typical for this kind of building.

It sleeps five across two bedrooms on the ground floor. There's one large bathroom with a shower over the bath. The living room has a wood burner, which is good for colder evenings. The kitchen is a decent size with a dining area.

Outside, there's a garden with seating. Parking is on site. There's a cot available and WiFi. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and has what you need.

You can bring one dog. The entrance and bedrooms are on the ground floor, but you'd need to check the measurements if someone in your party uses a wheelchair, as doors and spaces might be tight.

Scruton is quiet. Northallerton is the nearest proper town, about a ten-minute drive. It's got supermarkets, shops, and a train station. The station is useful for a day trip to York, which is about half an hour by train.

You're about a twenty-minute drive from the edge of the North York Moors. For walks, the North York Moors National Park site has good information. The Yorkshire Dales are about a 30 to 40-minute drive west. Richmond and Thirsk are nice market towns within half an hour. If you're into golf, there's a course nearby.
