Chalgrove

Chalgrove is in Soar, Powys. It's a converted barn from around 1822. It's detached and you're at the end of a country lane, so it's quiet. The main thing are the views. They look out over farmland towards the Brecon Beacons.

It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms, four bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have en-suites. There's also a shower room downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything is included.

Inside, it's open plan. The main living area has the kitchen and dining table for eight. It's big. There's a separate snug room with a TV, with doors out to the patio. The stairs are oak and a bit chunky. They're fine.

Outside, there's an enclosed garden and patio with a BBQ. Parking is on site.

There's a shop and a pub about six miles away in the nearest village. For a proper day out, Brecon is the main town. It's a traditional market town. Crickhowell, Abergavenny and Hay-on-Wye are all within about a 30 minute drive.

You're right on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The walking is the main attraction. You can set off straight from the door. For cycling, the Taff Trail is nearby. The area is a Dark Sky Reserve, so the stars are good on a clear night.

If you want to explore further, there are castles like Carreg Cennen and Caerphilly. Dan-yr-Ogof caves are about a 20 minute drive. The Brecon Mountain Railway is good for a family trip.

Facilities: washing machine, dishwasher, cot, highchair, bedding is provided. No pets, sorry.
