The cottage is called Alder. It's one of three lodges on a 30-acre estate just outside Killin. The village is about a mile's walk along a path, or a short drive.
It's detached and all on one level. Two bedrooms, sleeps four. One bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. You can bring one dog.
Out here, you're right in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. The views are good. You'll see fields, hills, and woodland. There's plenty of wildlife about, like red squirrels and deer.
The lodge has an open plan living area. It's got a TV, WiFi, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. Your bit of garden has a patio.
On the estate itself, there's a tennis and basketball court, a kids' play area, and a few fishing ponds. They're catch and release, fly fishing only. There are picnic benches dotted around if you want to stop somewhere.
Killin village has a couple of shops, pubs, and places to eat. The Falls of Dochart are there, which are worth seeing. There's a 9-hole golf course too. In the summer they have events like the Highland Games.
You're well placed for getting out. Loch Tay is close by for watersports. There's hill walking straight from the door. For a day out, you can drive to a whisky distillery, or go to Finlarig Castle. The Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park website has maps and ideas.
One thing to mention, because it's in the history. The main house on the estate has a story about a beheading from the clan days. A few guests have said they've seen something in the winter. I've never seen it myself. Just so you know.
