This is Can Duran. It's in Killin, right on the edge of the village. The Highland Park estate, where it is, is quiet and you'll often see red squirrels and deer from the windows.
It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up recently so it feels fresh and clean inside. The front door opens onto a small covered patio, which is handy if it's drizzling.
You're about a three minute walk from the pub and the shop. The Falls of Dochart are right there in the village, just by the bridge. For a longer walk, you can pick up trails along the river or into the hills straight from the door.
You're in Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Glen Ogle and Glen Lochay start here. For a drive, you can be at the north end of Loch Lomond in under half an hour. The National Park site has good walking information.
If you're into fishing, the Rivers Lochay and Dochart are on your doorstep, and Loch Tay is a few minutes away. There's a golf course in Killin too.
Inside, it's all open plan downstairs. There's a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. WiFi works fine. No pets, I'm afraid.
If you need space for eight, you can rent the cottage next door, Casa Duran, as well.
