Edw Lodge is a wooden lodge on a campsite just outside Aberedw. It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is handy.
It's on the River Wye. You have fishing rights from the property. There's salmon, trout, and coarse fishing. If you've brought canoes or kayaks, you can use them on the river from here. The patio looks down towards the water.
There's a hot tub on the decking. It's private to the lodge. You can sit in it and listen to the river.
The lodge is rated 4 Star. It's comfortable. It's got a dishwasher, wi-fi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
There's a pub and a restaurant about a mile away. The nearest shop is in Builth Wells, which is four miles.
For walking, you can set off straight from the door. It's also on the National Cycle Network, and the lanes around here are good for road cycling. The hills are proper if you're into mountain biking.
Builth Wells has the usual things: a supermarket, a few restaurants, a leisure centre with a pool, and a cinema. There's a golf course there too. The Royal Welsh Showground is about five miles away.
The Brecon Beacons are about half an hour's drive. The Elan Valley is roughly the same distance. They have good walking and cycling trails. You often see red kites there. There's a red kite feeding station at Gigrin Farm, near Rhayader.
Useful links for planning: Brecon Beacons National Park and Elan Valley Trust.
You can book it together with the Wye Lodge next door if you need space for more people.
