Islabank Farmhouse is part of the farm here at Ruthven. It's a working farm, arable and cattle, so you'll see tractors going past sometimes.
It's a traditional house, detached. Sleeps six, in three bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is handy.
You're up on a 2000-acre estate in the Vale of Strathmore. The views are over fields. It's quiet. The garden's enclosed, which is good if you've got dogs. We take up to three.
Inside, it's comfortable. Got a woodburning stove. There's a dishwasher, a washing machine, WiFi. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The nearest shop and pub are about three miles away in Meigle. Glamis Castle is a short drive. You're well placed here for getting about. Perth, Dundee, St Andrews are all within half an hour. You can be in Edinburgh in about an hour and a half, or heading up into the Highlands just as easily.
If you want to walk, the local rights of way are good. There's fishing nearby. A golf course not far. For planning days out, the National Trust for Scotland site is useful, and Visit Scotland's page for Perthshire covers the area.
Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Parking right outside.
