Le Jardin

This is Le Jardin, in Tarlton. It's part of a small group of cottages around a shared courtyard. You get a private, enclosed garden at the back that's just for you. It's quiet, mostly just fields and sheep.

It's a new build. The main bedroom is downstairs with a decent en-suite shower room. The upstairs is a second bedroom with two singles and another bathroom. So it sleeps four comfortably.

Because it's modern, everything works simply. The kitchen is open plan with the living area. There's underfloor heating downstairs, which is good for colder mornings. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We've also put in an electric car charger.

The stairs are open-tread. They're fine, but something to note if you have small children or anyone unsteady on their feet.

You can bring one dog. The garden is enclosed but it's not Fort Knox, so a dog that's prone to wandering would need watching.

Location wise, you're in the middle of it. The Badminton horse trials grounds are about five minutes away by car. Cheltenham for the races is about half an hour. For a day out, Westonbirt Arboretum is fantastic, especially in autumn. Hidcote and Kiftsgate gardens are both close by if that's your thing.

The nearest pub that does food is about three miles away in Kemble. Decent pubs are everywhere around here, but you will need to drive.
