Dye Mill Cottage is on our land, up a farm lane outside Moffat. It's detached, so it's just you. The patio has a table and looks out over a field.
It sleeps four, which is a bit of a squeeze. Honestly, it's one bedroom with a double bed and a sofa-bed in the living area. It's a Three Star place, so it's clean and works, but it's basic. There's one bathroom with a shower.
Moffat is the nearest town, about a ten-minute drive. The High Street has butchers, bakers, a co-op for groceries, and a few wool shops from the old weaving days. There's a good chippy. The Star Hotel is famous for being very narrow.
You're right on the edge of the Lowther Hills for walking. The Southern Upland Way passes nearby if you want a long hike. For a drive, the Devil's Beef Tub is a dramatic hollow in the hills just north of Moffat. Grey Mare's Tail is a waterfall about a 20-minute drive away, run by the National Trust for Scotland.
You can get to Glasgow or Edinburgh in under an hour if you want a city day. Carlisle is about 40 minutes south.
Facilities: TV, washing machine, bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. No pets, sorry.
